Details: Asking Your Wedding Party

I love hearing how a bride and groom ask members of their bridal party to stand up with them on their big day. Here are some cute and memorable ways to ask...

Freebies:

Download this chic card to ask your bridesmaids via The Wedding Chicks.

Bike Card. LOVE. Select your design color, text color and whom in the party you are asking. You have 21 colors to choose from! Also from The Wedding Chicks. See more about it here.

Labels:

Did you find the perfect gift? A piece of antique jewelry for your maids? Special fancy lotion as a thank you in advance? Stick a label on the box or container and you have a unique way of asking them to be part of your day. I'm sure you could also DIY a label. Here's a cute one from Tie that Binds.

Cookies:

Who doesn't love a yummy cookie??? Get to your maids through their stomachs. It would win me over in a heartbeat. I rarely turn down food. Especially these sweet treats.

I haven't actually tasted these, but they're on the O Magazine's: O List!

I love the box this cookie from Weddingish comes in!

Etsy Finds:

I can't ever leave out cute finds from Etsy! Here's what I found...

Flower Girl & Ring Bearer Cards:

Along with these sweet cards you might include a Build-A-Bear Bride or Groom. Check them out here.

Flower (For a similar detail, try Cultivar's shop --I've used her for bridesmaid's in the past and she's fabulous to work with!)

Vintage Watch (Trying finding one similar to this at Farfo's Vintage Watches)

Mercury Glass Pillar Holders (Pottery Barn has some gorgeous mercury glass right now)

Enjoy!

Layers of Light

Printable Paperie has some of the most fantastic designs for wedding, baby and social invitations. Their prices are quite reasonable if you feel comfortable doing the printing yourself. If not, you can also use a local print shop (my preference). Either way, you can get a totally custom looking invitation for much less than usual.

If I were throwing a summer wedding, I would absolutely be using their Layers of Light Suite. It's airy and so perfect for summer. If blue isn't your thing, you can request a color change ($25 per set). Maybe a buttery yellow or vibrant pink?

Thank you faithful readers! It's so great to know I'm not writing just because I like to hear my own voice (or however that translates over cyberspace!).

Here are 10 of my favorite posts from 2010:

Coral Part I & Coral Part II

Cutest Seating Charts in Existence

I caught a glimpse of these off the chart Laura Hooper wedding reception seating charts (pun totally intended) over on Wedding Library Buzz. Laura Hooper Calligraphy is pretty fantastic, but these are my favorite! What a fantastic memento they would make???

Seating charts start at $325 for a 22x30" print. Additional prints available for $80.

Amazing DIY Invitations

My sweet friend Jannah is incredibly talented. She is a writer by trade, but has an awesome natural talent for graphic design. Her sister-in-law's wedding was this weekend and I want to start sharing a little bit over he next week or so. She created and designed the following invitations. Ah-mazing! She researched and labored over the perfect paper to use. She made sure the bride-to-be loved every detail and was completely happy with the final product. I'm a proud friend and really think she should go into business!

I hope these inspire you to do your own little DIY project.

Happy Planning!
